  • I am a licensed Psychotherapist located in Los Angeles. I worked for more than 20 years as a controller in business accounting before obtaining graduate education and training in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University.
  • I have worked in community mental health settings with socioeconomically and ethnically diverse populations, especially Korean American immigrants, and families around the Los Angeles area.
  • I am certified in the MBTI and the Enneagram, personality trait assessment tools that are useful for deeply understanding one's personality and expanding self-awareness to help lead to the right direction whatever the stage in life.
  • Therapeutic strategies...
My major theoretical orientation is Existential therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning-often centering on the individual. This approach emphasizes a person's capacity to make rational choices and to develop to their maximum potential. Interventions often aim to increase self-awareness and self-understanding. As an Existential psychotherapist, I focus on life-enhancing experiences like relationships, love, caring, commitment, courage, creativity, power, will, agency, presence, spirituality, individuation, self-actualization, authenticity, acceptance, transcendence, and awe.
  • Also, I employ varied therapeutic approaches such as solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy, psychoanalytic therapy, interpersonal therapy, Mindfulness-based therapy, family systemic approach, and others that are adapted as appropriate to create unique treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each client, couple, and family.
